Biography
A surgeon between Europe, the NHS, and Karachi.
Dr. Saifullah Mir — Saif Mir on Instagram — practises as a consultant in otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and rhinoplasty. Ear surgery he learned from his father, Dr. Fasih Ullah Mir. The through-line is simple: treat the airway, the ear, and the face as one anatomy.

He took his M.D. at Palacký University in the Czech Republic in 2008, then a run of foundation and senior house-officer posts in the United Kingdom — Torbay, Southampton, Chorley, St George’s Hospital in London, and ENT at Hull. Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in ORL–HNS followed, with MRCS-A from the UK and membership of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
In Karachi he has worked at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Civil Hospital, and now consults at South City Hospital in Clifton, DHA Medical Centre, and Dr Fasih’s ENT hospital in Malir — his father’s house. Ear surgery he learned from Dr. Fasih Ullah Mir: tympanoplasty, the middle ear, hearing. Europe and the NHS added technique. The first teacher was at home. Patients know him for rhinoplasty that does not ignore breathing, and for the less common procedures he has insisted on keeping in the city: Eustachian tube dilatation, sialoendoscopy.
The public face of the practice is a long Instagram journal — clinic interviews after surgery, a television conversation on choking, notes on recovery that was less painful than feared. The private face is the consultation: time, a clear plan, and no hurry to operate.
